Default Umm...Help

Long story short, I test drove a disco a couple of years ago and fell in love. Bought one a few weeks ago that had been...neglected. Definitely not in great shape but not the worst conditioned vehicle I've driven by any means.

Figured today I would check the fluids and maybe see why the seats wouldn't move. Checked the fluids and then located the fuse compartment and started looking through fuses. Found the one to the seats (which was burned out) and replaced it. Seats now move. In doing so though, it will no longer start. Doesn't even turn over. I'm thinking maybe anti theft? Is there a remedy or something I'm overlooking perhaps? There were some wires that were run into the fuses that looked semi-aftermarket. I didn't fool with them though.

It's Lucas Electronics, right? I've not had good dealings with them in the past...

Have you tried removing the fuse for the seat motor?

You will find the shop manual and electrical guides handy. They are in the download below, and are called the "RAVE". Year of the truck determines some things, like how the alarm/immobilization works.

Yes, I removed the fuse for the seats, that was a no go. It's a 97 btw... And thanks for the manuals! I get the feeling that they are going to be my new best friends.

My inclination is towards the anti theft. It looks like it's aftermarket in a ways as the lead wire for it is run into the engine management fuse, the negative into the windshield (windscreen?) wipers fuse and then its grounded out on the fuse panel. I checked the fusible links on those and they looked good (One fuse was like a lightning bolt and awesome, just fyi).

I have the battery disconnected at the moment, figure it can't hurt. Any other ideas? I've checked every fuse (I think), including the ones under the hood and they all seem good. I have power and everything seems to be working. It's just that when you turn the key, there is nothing. No click from the starter, nothing...
