Many older and wiser have mentioned that with the 3/8 drive, grip at half mast, you can apply more torque than bolt will take trying to squeeze that last oil drop out. There's snug, and there's drill out and extract....

The reason I prefer 1/4" drive is because it lets me have the socket axis aligned with the bolt axis. With my 3/8" drive it's cocked over a bit.

agreed and there is no reason to over torque a small bolt

I noticed mine appears to have rubber valve cover gaskets. I was at Advanced Auto recently and asked if they had the replacement gasket. Their computer showed two different one a Beck Arney premium one that was rubber but it said no longer available. The other one they showed also came up no longer available.

Can the covers be removed and reinstalled reusing the rubber gaskets?

Where do you guys order from? I want to get a spare set. And a 1/4 inch drive socket. I agree I like for the socket to sit squarely on the bolt head, not cocked over.

Yes there is almost tight, just right, and damn I broke it tight.

Old rubber will crack when removed with your luck. It is made with left over rubber from the windshield wipers, you know how long they last.....

Trevor at Rovahfarm should have them. The cork ones are generally cheaper and should be fine, IMO.

Thanks Tom, I will check with Trevor. His prices are usually good and we need to help him stay in business by buying from him when possible.
