hey guys,
I noticed my 97 disco has a lot of sun roof rattle on the free way. the sunroofs dont work and I dont plan on fixing them since I have a roof rack. Does anyone know how I can permanently seal them with some sort of sealer or adhesive? I also considered adding some snap locks to hold them in place. I basically want to eliminate the rattle. Pls help, thanks

 

I tape the seams with 3" Gorilla Tape and replace when brittle, which is about every 2'ish years. It isn't pretty, but the Disco is so tall no one ever sees the roof.

I've read that using silicone on the seams cracks from air pressure when closing doors and the rear hatch.

 

Flex- seal? works on screen window boats (??) I used some of the Flex-seal tape on a hole above my windshield on my old Disco and it lasted a few years. never leaked or came off.
