They do. The big question is... Will the lines come free from the cooler??? Thats my worry.

I had to replace one going to the towel bar because of a pinhole int the metal portion. About 70 bucks for that one. I know of several hose shops here that maken while u wait. Not cheap but cheaper than the 199 set I bet.

They do come off. Each has a securing nut.

maybe find a shop that does hydraulics and see how much they would charge for a section of hose to suit. I work in an industrial part of LA and there are all sorts of shops that will make lines to order while you wait..

The problem with having them made is the only shops around here who make them are closed on Saturdays.
I dont get out of work in time to drive home, remove the hot cooler lines and then drive the wifes car across town to have hoses made just to find out they want $100 each and I need 3 of them.

The design of the factory lines is goofy to say the least, most of those lines with crimped fittings start leaking at some point or another just due to the merge of the two materials being pretty cheesy.

On a side note I've seen guys carefully remove the crimped portion, replace the rubber parts and use hose clamps instead of the crimp to hold the new rubber lines to the factory metal parts. Leaky trans cooler lines is a big problem on S-10s which happen to be my other fetish. Everyone I know with an S-Series has modified the stock lines with the hose clamp trick and it works like a charm.

Thank you, that was the kind of info I was looking for.
I will look into it this weekend, I imagine NAPA has a better selecetion of adapters and such than AutoZone will especially since the idiots at AutoZone only know how to look stuff up on the computer and if the computer does not tell them what to pull off the shelf they have no idea.

Seriously I'd definitely check with an hydraulics shop, you would certainly save compared to the 199$ kit from AB, if you want to keep it factory spec.

Or as S-10 said you can build new lines with rubber and steel pipe, as long as the ends of the steel pipes where a rubber hose is clamped to it are flared.

We build tranny coolers out of copper pipe for demo derby cars, so I'd say it's doable with your truck.

WHEW!!!
No leaking tranny lines, just a power steering hose.
Once the resevoiur is low again I am going to remove the leaky end, cut it off and reattach it.
If it still leaks then I will replace it.
This is the leaking line.

I think tranny rubber hoses seem to swell up more than others, maybe there is a chemical in the ATF to "plump up" the rubber seals, etc.
