What is my Disco?
Hi all. I am looking around for spare parts for my Discovery 1, but i am a bit baffled as to what year I should shop for as i cant figure out what series i own.
S:Europe
A:UK
L:Land Rover

J:model code=discovery
G:wheelbase=100", discovery
M:body type=Discovery 5 door
M:engine type=3.9, 4.0 V8 Efi Petrol
3:gear box= zf auto 4 speed or chrysler 3 speed auto
M:model year=1995, calendar period 94/95
A:build in=Solihull UK

X:serial number
The panel says "Built in Feb 94".
But the model year states 95.
Changes intervene in March 1994 it seems, but my car seems to have some more modern interior trim than earlier discos. There is cruise control in my car, but no abs or airbags.
Is my car a hybrid of 200 and 300 series?
What should I shop for when looking for parts?
Thanks for helping.

Haven't had a proper look or service yet. I am in Australia. The car also has aircon. It should be an "early disco", so a 200 series. But it seems that changes that should have been introduced the month after are already present. I am looking for a replacement dashboard as mine has warped. Are my axles 24 splines? Are track rods common to all disco 1s?

Here is one on line soure for the Microcat parts index, which has photos, assembly diagrams, factory part numbers. Microcat - Spare parts Land Rover catalogue in English Be sure to select "IN ENGLISH" unless you can read Klingon.
I believe the track rods are common to all D1. Dash board would be a breaker (salvage yard) item. There are guys who part out Land Rovers, you may find more on some of the AUS based sites.
