Auto tran discos only.

Mine seems to do it after 50mph.

Just like to know what other discos do, if yall don't mind posting your results.

Last ?, is there a way to adjust the the tranny to change gear before 50?

 

Just about 52-53 mph. Will hold it down in the 45 area. Shifts are contolled by pressure. Tranny fluid, any additive, tire size, engine, wear, all these things add in there. Tranny guy might be able to swap out an internal valve.

 

You think by adjusting the kickdown cable so it would change at a lower speed, say 40? Would that damage the tran?

 

Mine shifts right at where Buzz mentioned... and will hold it until I go uphill and/or drop below ~49mph...

I have 31" tires and also upshift at about 53.

 

Since mine is now FIXED and running. Normal throttle about 50 mph Foor to the floor about 58 mph.
