It's not always about speed. Even going slowly I've had things, particularly vines, slam my windscreen. Luckily never broken.
Also, I try to avoid cutting vegetation unless unavoidable.
There have been enough instances over the years that I've given serious consideration to having a set on my roof rack for when I need them. But haven't gotten beyond the consideration stage. lol

I have a set on mine, took them off for an outing to the river- who needs them in the desert, right? Wish I would have taken them along...
