what are those cable/ wires for?

Sounds like something we're cut out for......just need those new skins......and maybe a couple of new bushings.

Also, I try to avoid cutting vegetation unless unavoidable.

There have been enough instances over the years that I've given serious consideration to having a set on my roof rack for when I need them. But haven't gotten beyond the consideration stage. lol

$20 Tom, 10 min to install/remove once the initial set up is done.

Here is another video showing why you may need then, mind you I was only doing maybe 5mph.
Pay attention to the :50 mark and the 1:25 mark.

I have a set on mine, took them off for an outing to the river- who needs them in the desert, right? Wish I would have taken them along...
