Default Wires WIRES!!! what Are they!! 2000 LR D2

I have 2 wire connectors with wires cut on both sided on top near the hinges under the hood. I though they may be stock but cannot figure out what for. the wires are yellow and black and one connector on each side.

Someone has replaced your heated windshield with a non-heated type.

I suggest that you unplug the windshield connectors from the main harness connectors (the ones clipped to the panel) - as, those tails have the potential to cause a short-circuit.

The defrost is completely different. The defrost blows warm air onto the windshield. The heated windshield your vehicle came with originally had very thin wires embedded in the glass that would heat up when activated. Great for melting ice in the wintertime, but expensive to replace if broken.

The heated windscreen, as a Midwesterner who drives thru winter storms, is an enormous luxury. I love it. It keeps ice from forming on the windshield on the highway. It works beautifully. When it is -6 f you can vocount on being able to see without cranking the defroster to Hi and praying.
