I remember when the Kumho M/T's first came out. First set was 550.00 for all 4. A year later I was like those were great tires (if rotated often), so I wanted a second set for my 99 D2. They jumped to 235.00 a tire lol. BFG has never let me down, and I had good luck with 3 sets of Goodyear Duratracs. The XD gets driven long distances before it even reaches the off road park or trail. I heard good things about the Thunderer M/T's from a guy at the 2018 HCRR Event, so I gave em a shot in 2019 and I've been very pleased.

At this years event a lot of people aired down their tires and ended up needing more clearance vs traction. I kept my tires just as they were and clearance was not an issue and neither was traction.

Rim wise I'll stick with the double lip OEM LR wheel to a steel wheel any day. People think a LR alloy is just a typical alloy wheel, but LR really put a lot of work into their OEM wheels and they're very very strong. Steel has the advantage of being beaten back into shape, but the disadvantage is their weight vs the LR wheel.

My friend was running a 2inch lift 235/85R16 Toyo M/T's on a steel wheel & I was running the 235/85R16 Thunderer M/T's on the stock wheel. I flexed out all over the place without F/R swaybars and zero issues. Friend was making contact with his rear fenders constantly due to the wheel offset. He'll be doing a camel cut eventually.
