What under the two circled areas? Anything critical?

I want to mount a RAM 1" ball base like this.

My first choice would be the white circled area. The part under the radio with the warning message on it.
My second choice would be the yellow circled area.
Anyone know of any reason either of the two areas shouldnt have a couple screws installed?

I should have put a disclaimer in there, that's not my truck. I found it online and was too lazy to go outside and snag one. Gotta love Google!!

There's nothing unless you use 6" lag bolts. I've mounted several things there including RAM mounts.

Hadn't planned on using 6" lag bolts.
The RAM base should be here Friday and I'll make a decision as to where to mount it.
