The u.s. citizen would go broke if they had to pay $5.50 + for a gallon of gas. I'm pretty sure we would invade a country and take over there oil fields.... (Just going off the way washington seems to do things)

I'd be lucky if mine is doing double digits in its current state. Either way, it's not good enough that I can drive it whenever I bloody want to.

I was listening to the CEO of Shell Oil yesterday talk about the world energy issues. He mentioned, "we are over the cheap gas phase".....which means gas will continue to rise. Progressing countries, like China, will need more fuel for the demand of car coming into their market. They expect a high surge in fuel consumption very soon......which means again....we US citizens will suffer.....

I'm seriously considering Elon Musk's (Tesla) new SUV when it comes to market. The new Model S will change the way we drive....here in the bay area....and beyond. It is all about power storage from here on out.....DAMN IT!!!

As cheap as it is lately with fracking and stuff, I'm surprised we aren't seeing more CNG cars on the road. I'm tempted to ship a honda civic GX from california, and the self filling station with it. I guess it runs off of a dryer plug at 220 volts, and will refill your car with CNG over night.

Not only is it cheap right now, everyone says the U.S. is the saudi arabia of natural gas! Yet we export most of it. That doesn't make sense to me. I like the idea of the electric car, but it still uses fossil fuels from the power company that keep "going up".

we have LPG powered cars, and we used to CNG avaiable at virtually every service station, but the taxes went up and the cost of running it became to costly, now i do not think there is is a CNG station left in NZ, biggest issue with cng is the wieght of the tanks, the very limited range and the power sucking effect of it.

cheers
