Where to start... 1994 D1.
I might consider the silicon if I can get them to shut entirely. I have the front one shut but the back is sort of stuck in the flipped-up position. I can make it sit down kind of flat but that leaves about a 3/4" gap towards the front. I hope once I get some of the electrical issues figured out I can make them work or at least get them closed properly. Then I can pull the fuse so I won't be tempted to open them ever again!
I was wondering what the little allen wrench with the black handle that says LR was for.
To gain full access to the Sunroof motor and drain tubes and such, all you have to do is remove the damn headliner. Most of them sag real bad after a while anyway as the foam layer disentegrates with age and from riding with the windows down.
I love having my windows down and the sunroofs open, so I would never ever consider siliconing the sunroof shut.
Pull the headliner and fix it. I much prefer a Discovery with no headliner and two working sunroofs than the other way around.
And one thing to remember, the sleazy bars and wild women existed way before the US Navy was even created, but I did enjoy all of them that I stumbled into or out of during the four years that the Navy drug me all over the world. It is an addiction that once started often last a lifetime.
I still remember that first one in that back alley in Barcelona Spain that had the chickens roasting on the spits over a firepit built right in the wall as you rounded the corner from the main Plaza. And that black haired punta that wrapped one leg around my waist as she wisherpered in my ear "You wanna **** me". Over my shoulder she went as I stumbled out of the bar with my buddy Bobby from New Jersey grabbed the blonde German girl that was with Maria. That was our first port of call after crossing the Atlantic to the Med. Those good old Navy Days. They tell me the Phillipines was even wilder, but I never made it there.

Clark AB, Angeles City. The wild, Wild, WILD WEST had nothing on that place, it was anything goes and Green Cards. I'll tell ya, I don't remember much but I'll always remember that slice of heaven! I didn't even need to hit Subic in Manila. You guys had that covered like two to one. Panama, Thailand, Guam, Netherlands, Australia are all dead even awesome. Keflavik comes in last, sorry to say. Like they say, there's one behind every tree.....I pulled many an alert there. Vikings, no doubt.
My very first hands on with a Range Rover was in Angeles City.......

A small (well large actually) success today. I replaced the 100 Amp fuse under the hood and now nearly everything works electrically!! How about that! :-)
The only thing that wont operate is the rear sunroof. Even the front motor turns but the glass doesn't move.
It was quite something to open the door and see the overhead lights working. Then all kinds of chimes, started. The clock, radio and blower even work. Although the latter is not a very healthy blow.
So I guess that circuit controls or feeds a lot more than just charging. Anyway, on to bigger and more complicated things now I'm afraid...

It takes a while for alternator to run and bring up a battery. Suggest external charger plugged in. If not ready to invest in great battery, a used one from salvage yard will work for testing.
MF 1 , the 100 amp, is between battery and most everything else. See attached.
Remove trim under glove box. HVAC blower has three bolts and drops down.. Expensive, so careful. It may be full of rat nest, leaves, trash.

Really wish the PO had remembered to put anti-freeze in it. If he had, I'd be driving this thing by now!
Yes the MF 1 is pretty key. It's upstream of everything else. I had been reluctant to put even this smallest of investment into the beast ($3.49) but surely it has panned out to be a wise investment maybe doubling the value of the entire rig!
I have a good battery in it now from another vehicle that's already been retired for the winter. Looks like the Rover may be hanging around a bit longer...

Yes, gusher is a good term for it! Likely the HG, pass side. That or a cracked head/block (!).
Thanks for the tips SV (as usual). Good stuff on the blower motor. First I'm going to have to get the passenger door to open before I attempt to look at that though.

See attached. On passenger door, if manual relase does not throw it, a "slim jim" lock manipulator from auto parts store may help. This won't work well on driver's side. Skinny stainless steel antenna rods work well also.
Can you put your finger on the gusher?
