Why don't we order from abroad?
I see this thread is old but when I ordered replacement floor panels for my truck I tacked a bunch of **** onto my order and it totaled 3 boxes included the HUGE one for a replacement rear floor. $120 shipped.
I wish I could find an R380 set up for a v8 with the bellhousing, clutch, etc. I know. Random. But I really want one. I'd buy it from anywhere if the price was reasonable.
Part of the problem buying engine and transmission parts abroad is core charge (and return shipping). And returns in general. Also, I have noticed that some of the sites that convert prices to dollars use a really wrong currency conversion ratio.

currency exchange is a daily thing.
you best bet would be to look for a crapped out 5-speed D1 and take the whole thing.
by the time you get the tranny, bellhousing, flywheel, throw bearing, pedal box, hydraulic, master and slave cylinder and all the other odds and ends t would be easier to strip a truck

I used to buy a good bit of high end audio gear from the UK and manufacturers usually lock into a conversion rate (with an accepted high or low value) that doesn't move day to day the way currency does. It's not really realistic to see that the dollar closed particularly strong last night and then hop on the British website and expect the price of goods to reflect the most recent change.

There was a complete 5spd Disco in the junk yard near me. Everything there to convert a D1. Coulda got everything for about 350. If I would have known we could have worked out something. It's gone now. Scrap metal.
On sites that don't convert to dollars and take PayPal payment you get a more accurate conversion to pounds, I've noticed. When you are sent to PayPal for payment the pound price shows and PayPal makes the conversion.
