Will a head light assembly from a 2000 D2 fit a 1997 D1?

Yes, they are interchangeable

can we youse HID'S with the d2 headlamps? Dirtymerchant or whatever that guys name was who was parting his disco said he had hid headlamps with the full hid kit for sale. But people say hids just blind ppl on the road. Any clarification?

 

To use HID, you really need a housing that was designed for it. None of the D2 were. Lots of people do it, but they probably shouldn't. If you want good looking lights, you can buy Sylvania Silverstars. They look great, but they don't last very long. (at least they didn't last long in the cars that I've seen them in... Acura Legend, Honda Accord, and Honda Civic. I don't recall the bulb types)
