Default will a D2 rear view mirror fit a D1 mount?

I may be getting my cracked windshield replaced Wednesday and need to know if they should re-mount the rear view mirror bracket.

I haven't gotten a D1 mirror yet and need to know if a D2 rear view mirror will fit the D1 bracket in case I decide to go that route instead.

If I'm not mistaken, the '99 DII mirror will work directly with the '96-'99 DI connector and socket. The later DII mirrors had compass or homelink features and the wiring was different. As are as attaching to the window, any of them should work.

Put a GM mount on it and you can get a Saturn mirror like I did with temp and compass just change the plug and add the temp sensor behind the grill

DII mirror works just fine I have one with the compass. I can't remember if I had to splice any wires or not but the window mount is the same.

Added the DII mirror to my D1. had to play with the wires a bit to get the mirror to work right. Has been working great for a few months now.

Yes, I'm pretty sure mine is a DII mirror as well. It has the compass and auto-dim - I will check the wiring for you when I get home - it works perfectly and used the same mount.

never got home? ;-)

Ibought a mirror with compas, auto-dim and three buttons for homelink on ebay. Was sold as p38 mirror (but never seen a p38 with compas) and should fit in a D2 as well...

in the base of the mirror there was a black 2x5 pin connecor with a red, a brown and a grey wire..

In my RAVE for P38 i can find a autodim mirror, but that has a different connector.

In my RAVE for D2 the electric rearview mirror is not mentioned in the schematics.....

SO.... now I need to know what signals go to these three wires.... I assume brown= ground, red is 12V supply and grey is switched power or something like that.... but would like the be sure

Yep I so love my non leaking D2 mirror in my D1!! Works great and it's just 3 wires. Constant 12v, keyed 12v, and ground if I'm not mistaken.
