I am stopping by the shop tomorrow to check on progress.
I am getting very impatient, he keeps delaying.
He's not getting paid for this one so I can see his lack of motivation, but still the potential to make money is there.

Spike, If I were you, I would pay a lot of attention to the legal liabilitites involved in selling items like this. If somebody gets injured due to some oversight in the design, YOU could be in for a major inconvience to put it mildly. You would be wise not to overlook your liability issues.

You may be too far into the process for more suggestions, but I like the lower profile and multiple functions of this ARB bumper I found on a Defender:

I'd like to see something like this, It's what I would have done for my Grand Cherokee.

I like the ARB bumper the best, lots of features but expensive.
The cheapest I have found it is $750 with free shipping.

So far I have made zero progress on this project and I am very disappointed.

The ARB bullbars while they look good and have many functions sit way too low giving you a much lower approach angle as they stick out so far and are low, and are also weak thereby bending easily on ledges and big rocks whether climbing or descending them. I wouldn't get one again but as I'm poor I live with my bent half mangled bullbar that I've had rebent and strengthened several times only to rebend it again. If you don't plan on any serious ledges/rocks then an ARB would be fine but if you do then get something else that is higher, shorter, and more stout.
