winch mount options
What are my options when it comes to mounting a winch on my 98 Disco... I know the obvious (and most expensive) ARB option, as well as the long list of other aftermarker bumpers. I'm curious as to how I could mount a winch and retain the stock brush gard/bumper. I have heard talk of a winch tray for these things... I see winches on the camel trophy rovers. How do they mount em?
thanks,

The 98 Disco's have a special designed hood. They did that so you can actually mount the winch on the hood. It keeps the winch out of water and mud and allows easy access to the controls. Just bolt the winch directly to the hood
. I've been wanting to do this but have no winch, so please mount yours to your hood and take many pictures so we can all check it out, then go get stuck and winch yourself out as a test and report back the data. I REALLY look forward to your analysis.-Cheers

I get an email that tells me I have a reply, and so I log on. Come to find out its some useless comment.
I know that some of this sites memebers actually have some knowledge I'd like to reffer to.... and thats why I continue to be a member. For those of you who comment because you simply have nothing better to do.... I'm sorry but get a life. You have Rovers, get out and use them

That first link, the muddy oval site, has a pretty straight forward method. I may just buy the materials and pull the bumper off and go from there. Has anyone done this before? My only concern is how tight everything appears to be.... kinda looks hard to get to.
