Default wipers won't shut off

Hey guys Im having a problem where my wipers won't shut off unless I pull the fuse out. Im thinking that water is running down the A pillar and shorting out a relay or something. Was wondering if anybody else had this issue and how they fixed it. Thanks in advance.

Hey guys, thought I’d post an update on the wipers. The weather was halfway decent here in Cleveland today so I went out and messed around with it. I took the wiper motor apart and cleaned the contacts and surfaces that they rub against. It seemed like there was a bit of grease in there. Anyway got it all sorted and put back together in less than an hour and it seems to be working fine. Hope this helps anybody if they’re having an issue.

Hi guys, my disco wipers have developed a mind of their own with periods of unstoppable front wipers that I’ve resorted to pulling the fuse to disable. The control stalk has zero effect during the fault condition
has anyone experienced anything similar that they’ve managed to remedy themselves?
the control relays have been swapped with zero effect & the stalk has been unplugged but the fault still remains.
I’m now at a bit of a loss as to where the fault may lie.

I had the same problem. I replaced the wiper motor with a used one that I bought off eBay and it’s worked fine ever since.

My wiper problems were solved by taking the motor/gear assembly apart and polishing the electrical contact surfaces, like dickso above.

After much hair pulling I’ve removed the BCU & sent it to ecu repair to let them have a go at repairing, the wiper relay was being permanently fed by this module.
