Default Won't Crank After Head Gasket

So my dad & I were up to 3am putting everything back together (97 D1) and after filling fluids back up we went to crank her and got - nothing. We had the battery checked and it showed plenty of charge. I turned the key to the "on" position and could clearly hear the fuel pump winding up, but when I cranked it I could barely hear what I thought was a faint tick, but nothing else. We tried jumping it, but with the same result (usually the starter will at least turn over). Where do I go from here?

So, just to be clear, the engine will not turn over when turn the key, it just clicks like a dead battery?
Have you tried to reset your alarm? How about jumping the starter with a jumper cable, might try that and make sure it is not your starter.

It doesn't click like other dead batteries I've heard. All I hear is one faint sort-of tick when I turn to start and let off. It was starting/running fine (other than leaking coolant) before we disassembled. As for the security, the truck won't lock/unlock b/c of a broken driver's door lock and I haven't used the remote in years (it had quit working). I've had it not start a couple of times b/c of what I assumed to be security, but I always just took the key out then tried again and it worked. How would I jump/test the starter directly?
