Default Wrapping the Exhaust Manifold & Whole New Exhaust System

Hello Good People,
I am in the market for an entire exhaust system. Well researching what is out there I was thinking about our high performance trucks (ehehe) and was wondering if there was any value in wrapping the Exhaust Manifold?

The truck came with a Magnaflow muffler but these days I wanting something quiet. I am thinking of going stock but hopefully the stock price.
Are there any online vendors that sell a reasonable bolt on setup or should I be heading to a local muffler shop?

Thanks

This Y-pipe seems the cheapest I could find. Made in Canada. No luck so far with quality muffler.

one suggestion - before you install the pipes/mufflers etc. make sure to wipe then all down with brake-cleaner to remove any oils / contaminants that can turn to rust and use clean gloves after when handling

Nice find ocarlo!
That’s what I will do.
If combined with this from Lucky8 I should have all the piping needed.

Good tip disco96sd,
Will do it. I have enough rust issues to deal with already.

Thanks

Better yet, paint it with a cold galvanizing spray to combat rust

Okay now we are on to something!
So dont wrap, but do a galvanizing spray to prevent rust.
Would a galvanizing spray paint in silver be better than black?

What would you suggest for getting the manifolds all cleaned up and ready?
A wire brush?
A wire brush attached to a dremal or power drill?

Thanks

Hello again Everyone,

All of my exhaust pipes and mufflers have arrived. Thanks again for the tip to clean and spray the welded joints with a galvanized paint.

Can I use high temp paint to paint the entire exhaust pipes with cats and muffler?
That would be Everything Exhaust related? I want this exhaust to be far removed from premature rust.

Thanks
