Default ignition code?

So I have a 1995 Discovery 1 sport and I replaced the entire ignition cylinder lock the other day. It fired up immediately so I decided to call it a day. Go to fire it up the next day and nothing. It doesn't turn over or anything, but rather seems to lose all power when turning the key to start. I was wondering if anyone knows anything about replacing the ignition cylinder lock and if there are any codes I must use and how I would enter them? Just thought id look into this potential code before I go ahead and start playing around with other things.

Thanks and let me know if you have any information!

I’d start by checking the connection between the inboard end of the ignition barrel and the round piece that fits on the end of it. There should be two tiny Phillips heads screws holding the two together.

Thanks for the suggestion, I really appreciate it! ignition and wiring seem to all be fine after going through it a few times... From what I think, it could either be the starter, starter solenoid, or either I am immobilized by the ECU or Ignition code if there is one. Let me know if you got any other suggestions?

If you have a momentary switch you can connect it between the starter and the battery to start the truck. This would possibly rule out a bad starter. When doing this make sure the key is in the ignition and in the 2nd position before pressing on the momentary switch.

thanks for the reply! As far as the momentary switch goes would I connect it to the starter solenoid or just connect it where the 12v constant is?

Hey Jack,
On the starter you can remove the ignition connection (female spade). Now add one end of the momentary switch to the male spade on the starter.
The remaining momentary switch wire goes to the positive terminal on the battery.

Make sure your key is in the ignition and in the 2nd position.
Now press the momentary switch, it the car starts than you know the starter is not the problem. Though starters can get somewhat funky when they have reached their life, when could mean it may be time to replace the brushes and or the solenoid.

Hope that helps.
