Thats how you can tow a car with the wheels on the ground and not destroy it (like behind a motor home), leave it running and in neutral, you can tow it as far and as long as you want.
Tow it in neutral with the engine off, the trans will be seized inside of 50 miles because it will overheat and may even catch fire.
