Default Update: Added back a resonator

For anyone considering the Magnaflow (and maybe other after market exhaust upgrades) system without a resonator, you might want to add a resonator after all. While I love the sound of the Magnaflow on my truck, the drone between 1800-2200 RPMs started to drive me crazy. My wife and kids also hated it.

To resolve the drone, I had a local muffler shop splice in a resonator. The exhaust tone is still nice, and now the drone is gone and my family doesn't hate the Rover anymore.

Hey Chris, quick question for you. did you purchase the Magnaflow 93689 Stainless Direct Fit Catalytic Converter 99-04 LR Discovery V8? I just installed a cat back exhaust system on my D2 and want to replace the Y pipe/cats with a Magnaflow thats more free flowing. I live in Virginia so no CA emissions worries here. Thanks!

I purchased the 93690 which fits my 1997 D1 V8. Looks like the 93689 is the equivalent for the D2 from 1999.

Looking at the options on AB and RN I am unsure what will fit right other than the Genuine part that is mega expensive. I live in WA state so no CA emissions worries here.

Thanks for the help.
Hi guy's. Are there any 4 inch exhaust systems out there that alow you to fit you standard catted y pipe on for MOT time? If not is it really worth replacing the the down pipes power wise for the hassle of changing the full exhaust every year? Thanks
