hate to ask but are you loading the cd's right side up? is this a new problem or a problem with a new truck?

Yeah the little control or remote thing for the changer shows the disc playing and i can select songs and discs but the radio wont switch to CD. what does the plug look like on the back? cuz i found a blue plug somewhere roaming free and plugged it in to the radio and still nothing. Thanks

*****UPDATE**** Sorry guys I didn't do this sooner, Ok here is the deal with the "factory" cd players the remote is on a wire! probably tucked underneath the dash somewhere ( like mine was) The second thing is you have it on a certain radio station. Now I don't know if it is the same for every LR or what but mine is set on 89.4 and How we figured that out was we had the CD player on and playing and scanned through the channels till we heard the CD that was playing! that is my 6 hours of sitting in the driveway tearing everything apart! I hope this helps and saves you more time then it did me!

Both of your players are aftermarket FM modulated units. They will not work with the factory controls.

I concur with you sir! factory would NEVER use RF modulation. (well maybe jeep would, there were some weird issues going on with aftermarket RF systems in those things)
