Default '00 D2 won't start

This started last night, my car Disco 2 won't start without help. When trying to start it, it sounds like it wants to start and will even start to about 500 rpm and then die. The fuel pump is only about 6 months old and it is aftermarket. It has started fine normally until last night. It will start with a little starting fluid in the intake and run just fine. No loss of power or nothing. What could this possibly be. I have just replaced the spark plugs and air filter. This is our only car right now and I am out of ideas. I don't think that it is the fuel pump because it isn't that old. An ideas? Thanks.

The three amigos just turned on a while ago and the check engine light came on again. I haven't had the codes read because I am afraid to turn it off once it is started. I guess I will have to suck it up and stop at AZ to see what it says.

Just go get the codes read, don't turn off the engine, write down the codes and get them back to us.
