Land Rover Discovery II Radiator (Same Fit As Genuine Part # PCC000710) | Land Rover Engine Parts
Roverparts online help couldn't decode my vin number for some reason?
But its a 2000, with secondary air. He's pretty sure the above radiator (2001+ spec) should be the one, thinking that mines probably a late model.
Second, the "summer" Land Rover Discovery II Replacement Thermostat thermostat is the 180 degree one yes?
Third, I'll be replacing the lower hose just for ****s n giggles, as I have already replaced all the plastic lines, upper hose, wp, etc. Anything else I should replace while I'm in there... ie. coolant temp sensor or any mounts or somethin or others? Viscous is good, fans are all in good shape... belts new, coolant in there now is less then year old but I have a few gallons of Amsoil layin around anywho so no worries there.
Lastly before I commit, has anyone running the 180 thermo seen any ill side effects such as an increase in fuel trim or funny running habbits from running cooler then stock programming anticipates? I know my LT1 rod back in the day the big mod was to drop the thermo 20 degrees but the computer would run rich to compensate the change after it relearned its curves.

Nissen makes a good radiator. Nissen also puts some radiators from other small factories in their box (second source). I hope that the one I bought for my Mercedes will hold up as well as the "made by Nissens" even though it is a "made for Nissens". I have every reason to believe it will last the waranty period and that they will stand behind it. And yes, I made this known on the Merc forum, to the Nissens rep for NA, and the Nissens VP, who did return my email.
I believe you may also find slightly lesser priced rads on flea bay, but at some point quality has to become a factor. Likewise a $50 one from boneyard may have 100,000 miles of calcium and Dexsludge or stopz leakz inside. But look clean on the outside. See pix.
If you replaced the WP, but used an older fan clutch, the marriage may not last forever. These two are known for holding hands and jumping off the cliff together.
I can't recall any complaints about the 180 stat in respect to fuel economy, etc. One or two posts about a new one not opening at correct temp (after market style; you can always test in a pot on the stove before install).

I'll hop over to Utah's sight when I get home, its not being friendly on my phones screen. I'd rather throw some cash at the Euro market if given the option haha.
Actually I really can't recall if they replaced the fan clutch when they did the waterpump... I know he went out of his way to find a brass impeller version when I asked, but he basically redid the entire top end so I can't recall... I'll have to see if I can find the reciept (doubtfull) lol

I just got a Nissen.
Said made in Denmark.
Well, I can't even get the old radiator out.
3 hours so far.
I drove the Rover with no fan about 15 miles with no traffic.
Had the scanner connected.
With my old radiator in there and no fan I never got higher than 210 F.
I had the A/C on too and then the aux fan would have been running.
