Default 00 Disco II what to look for?

I might be purchasing a 2000 Discovery 140k for a really, really low price. It runs and drives but I'm wondering what I should look for when I go to see it. I honestly probably won't be keeping it very long, if it can last me through the winter without anything major going wrong, I'll be happy. Thanks so much in advance!

your best best is bring it to someone that knows LR and pay a couple bucks to have it inspected.

take a code reader along or stop at an auto parts store on the test drive and use one there.

At least that way you'll know what you are getting.

The next best thing to paying for a pre purchase inspection.

i would really spring for the pre inspection over a code reader.
the code reader is not going to tell you things like if the drive shaft has been replaced, or if the rear main is leaking, suspension parts are worn.

The pre purchase inspection is the best option, don't get me wrong...

Just that from the original post I didn't figure he was going to drive the truck long enough or care enough to actually invest any money in it before he bought it so I suggested the code reader as a cheap alternative.
