Default 01 Disco 2 running rough?

He guys it been awhile. Well aparently(my wife calls me in a panic at work) the disco is running rough. Things been running fine up untill yesterday when she noticed at a stop light that it was running different. So she took it home and parked it ( and forgot to mention this issue to me) so she fired it up again this morning and it's was still running rough and she gave it some throttle and white smoke came out the pipe. So she shut her down. So this is all in her own words as I am at work right now and know only what she told me. Also the service engine light has been on a couple weeks( not flashing). So guys where should I start? Code reader? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thx.

Pessimist answer: code reader to see the "misfire on cyl x" errors along with the "multiple random misfires detected", check to find coolant missing, replace head gaskets.

Well, sure as heck doesn't sound great. Some more basic info is needed though: Miles, has head gasket been done, plugs newer, who performs service, etc.
If you open the hood and see the coolant low, your answer might be pretty apparent. On the other hand, could be something as simple as a bad plug, wire, etc.

Go get your codes read, without them, you are wasting both your time and ours trying to guess what is wrong. In the future, when that light comes on, get it read, you might save really screwing something up with neglect.

Yup #8 misfire, hydrocarbons in cooling system= blown headgasket. Now I'm just hoping it didn't slip a sleeve.
