Got it all fixed and back. Then turns out the leaking down the Bell housing is a headgasket leak, just my luck......... They said it wasn't bad and could drive it for a while, but am having it fixed as I don't want to chance it. Is $1,500 a bad price to do both heads?

$1500, jump on it, that is a good price. For both. You might want them to throw on new plugs and wires while it is apart.

Yes, that is the price to do both. Luckily I just got a 15% coupon in the mail, so worked out to $1,500. Already dropped of my magnacores this morning..... Figured why not, they have to take it all apart anyway so no extra charge for putting them in. I put Bosch +4's in when I got the truck @ 45K but am having them replaced with original Champions.
