Default '02 Disco brakes

I am in the process of replacing all the rusty and rotten brake lines and hoses. I am curious about the two hoses that are on the frame (driver's side wheel well). These are for the rear brakes. Has any body just bypassed these two hoses instead of replacing them? Mine are terribly rusted and they seem a bit redundant anyway.

I am using nickel/copper lines which are quite flexible...

Are you sure those two lines aren't for the ABS module?

If you mean the two with the "spring" covering, I think those are there to account for chassis to body flex in extreme situations (offroading). I recently replaced the long section that goes back to passenger rear wheel and was able to reuse that short section in the front but I looked at it wondering what to do if I couldn't. They're still available from the generic parts stores for short money, I would probably replace them rather than eliminate them.

Hi...Those two flex hoses are fed from the ABS module. They are there for a transfer from the body of the fender to the frame for the rear brake lines. Clearly to allow for twisting between the frame and fender. I don't do any offroading, so my interest was if they were required if I was using nickel/copper lines...That are more flexible than OEM steel lines...

Britpart makes SS braided lines for those two. It would be in your best interests to keep those two lines flexible
