So before it would start when cold, and now you've replaced the crankshaft position sensor (cps) and it won't start at all?

If so, it's very likely you installed it wrong, which is easy to do.

I think I got it right. What could I have done wrong? How to check if it's right?
I'm getting tired of this car. There is always something wrong.
I pulled the old one out and installed the new one the same way back in. When I pulled the old one out there was two long washers that fell out, I assume they were on the bolts that holds the sensor, so I placed them back on the bolts before putting the sensor in. That was the only thing that I was not sure about. Any suggestion is appreciated. Thanks

re: so I placed them back on the bolts before putting the sensor in

Recall that I mentioned :

These parts come off, and must go back on in the exact order they came off

That would be block + sensor + bolts. The extra space you created with new mounting method does not allow the sensor to create the signal that triggers the sparks.

Sooo, where did the 1/2" washers came from by taking off the old sensor? They came off wright when I pulled the sensor off of the bolts. I had to undue the two nuts and slide the sensor off of the bolts that are not removable.

This is the problem. My order was block spacers sensor nuts. I could not see where the spacers came off when I took the old one out. I will reinstall it today, hopefully it will work.
Thank you. Thank you.

Putting it together wrong is almost as common as the cps failure itself.

Buzz, you don't want to sticky this thread?
