Default 03-04 head light disassembly

Has anyone disassembled a 2003-2004 headlight with some knowledge of what to do and more importantly what NOT do do.

I have some condensation in one. I put a small bead of silicone around the clear edge a few months back. But obviously that did not work.

Thanks,

Take your time and it's pretty simple, lots of little tabs to be careful with. Thread below touches somewhat on how to disassemble and what I used when I pulled mine apart.

I had a consistent moisture problem on the driver's side light in my first truck and had excellent results by removing the bulbs and using a heatgun (hairdryer will work) to dry all the moisture in the assembly and then filling this groove all the way around the headlight with 2 part clear epoxy, using a toothpick as an applicator. Two years on and it was still dry.

Thanking you for posting that link. I have a spare set of 03/04 headlights that I'm planning to put projectors in. I've done this before on a different car, but always great to see how someone else has done the same thing. I put a set of LED bulbs in and the light output is been good enough to reduce my itch for projectors but now I'm getting the itch again

Put the light on the windshield , back end up, take the rear cover off. The heat from the sun will dry it. Seal it with silicone on all the cracks. Get one of those dessicant packs, cut it open, put the beads in the bottom of the light. The heat from the light will regenerate the dessicant every time it is used.
