Default 03 Disco - purchase

Hey guys - got a friend out in cali who's looking into buying an 03 Disco II. The VIN#SALTY16453A777531 I was wondering if someone might be able to tell me if that's in the range of the bad oil pump Discos and also anything else I might want to tell him to look for. i.e. air bag suspension, etc. thanks for any help.....

Call the local Rover dealers service department and they can answer that.
He will need to have the front drive shaft rebuilt or replaced, not by the dealer.
What does he want to use this for, make sure to mention that it doesn't have a CDL hence it will need to be added if he plans on doing some modifications.

Be wary. We bought a 2003 Disco II with 133K km in August 2008.

The oil pump failed 33 days later. The extended warranty covered $2500, the used car dealer kicked in $2000, and we had to pay $1700.

The front drive shaft failed and took out the transmission less than a month after we got it back after having the replacement engine fitted. The extended warranty covered $2500, and we had to pay $1800.
