03 discovery 2 backfiring

Default 03 discovery 2 backfiring
iv got an 03' discovery 2 92,000 miles on it. im getting a cylinder 8 misfire and its backfiring into the intake. any thoughts ? also. what should the compression be on the cylinders ?

Premium gas only, a tune-up with new plugs and 8mm wires for starters...for compression, check here: http://www.landroverresource.com/ and type "compression" in search block.

ok. but how can we explain the backfiring into the intake ?

I would guess sticking or burnt valves...you are on the right track with a compression test (check compression when the engine is warmed up)...you might need your heads rebuilt.

i cant find it. i check cylinder 1 and 8 they were both between 60 - 70 psi... :/
