Default 03 Discovery 2 Exhausts

I've been looking into this forum allot and love it already. I would have had no idea about the heated seats already being in the vehicle just waiting for the switches without the folks on here. Thanks a ton on that one.

My question is about upgrading the stock exhaust on the disco 2 and what seems to be working the best for people. I've been thinking about either the BORLA cat back system or finding a good muffler and have a custom shop bend new pipe back from the cat. Also is it a noticeable mpg increase?

If you are wanting to do this mod for the sound effect, it will make your truck noiser, if your looking for a boost in power, it is a waist of money.
If you are wanting it to sound a little more mello, cut of the rear resinator, gets in the way anyway when off wheeling.
If you are looking for a little more power there are better ways to go. How many miles on your truck?

Any gains in power would be nice but the biggest thing I was hoping to get was a boost in gas mileage. The truck has just over 42000 miles on it.

What sort of mileage are you getting now, in town and on the road?

Just bought it a little over a week ago so I have no idea on my actual mileage yet. I'd like to try to get better then the 12/16 official rating. Most of the weekly driving is work commuting so even a gain of 2 mpg would be worth it. The whole reason for starting this thread was because this is my first truck. I've been a car guy all my life and have been modding them to no end to squeeze every last bit of power out of the engine but the V8 is a whole new beast to me and power is no longer my main objective. The gain in horsepower would be nice but if this isnt like smaller motors and would end up accidentaly making the gas mileage worse I would be kicking myself in the **** for a month.
