Depending on what is broken in door latch, maybe you can still deactivate the alarm manually. You might be able to remove the drivers door panel and be able to reach up and move the lock/unlock switch manually from inside, while all the doors and hood are closed, but I've never tried this so I'm not sure if it would work. I personally would replace the broken drivers side door lock to be able to lock and unlock the truck and set the Alarm.

Now that the horn fuse is fixed is it going off when you try and start the car?
The rod from the door lock tumbler to the switch in the latch is broken. I removed the door handle and I can use a screwdriver to lock and unlock it. The horn is not on when I try to start it or any unusual lights in the dash. It's been sitting about a year and hasn't had a battery in it so it wouldn't surprise me I'd the theft or ecm needs to be reset. The initial problem was one day it wouldn't start. Same thing as now crank but no start

I'm betting the long time without power has caused the BCU to either lose sync or go bad. The BCU talks to the ECM and also the fuel cut off switch. If it's not getting all the disarm signals it needs it won't allow the vehicle to be started. I think that you are going to need the have the truck hooked up to a hawkeye, testbook, nanocom, or similar Land Rover computer to make sure everything is talking with each other correctly.

Yeah I was wondering that also, but was hoping I was missing something simple. Aldo this vehicle has just regular hardware store cut keys and no remotes. In rave it was saying that there is a sensor around the ignition switch that senses the chip in the key/ remote. This vehicle hasn't had a remote and has had these keys since 08. Worked that way for 30,000 miles. That also confused me, as to how it worked at all let alone that long.

As stated above, the key's themselves have no chips only the handsets. Maybe the EKA was used at some point and/or the passive immobilization was not active allowing an unauthorized key to be used. If the vehicle has sat for a long time maybe the computer returned to default settings and the passive immobilization is now active again and looking for a signal from the handset before allowing the truck to be started.

Do you know when the remote was first lost and if they had the truck at the shop to have the extra key made? Maybe the shop turned off the immobilisation so the new key would work.

To enter the EKA mode you need to have the 4 digit code and a working drivers door lock to use.

The information below helps explain how immobilization works. The part that I think is you problem is "Once the ignition is switched on, the BCU transmits a coded signal to the ECM. If the coded signal does not
correspond to the programmed code in the ECM, the ECM is inhibited and the BCU inhibits the starting circuit
." You need to make sure your BCU's coded signal is the same as the programmed code in the ECM

I don't think they have ever had a remote for it. Having the bcm switched to the mode where it's not looking to recognize the remote makes sense. I have no idea what the 4 digit code would be, and I'm also guessing I'd need land rover software to resolve this issue?
