03 S Disco Fog Light Upgrade
We own an 03 Disco S series but we wanted to add the SE OEM fog lights in the bumper for extra light and, of course, they look cool
. For anyone considering this upgrade here are the part numbers and cost of the project. I believe the 2004 is the same parts and process but maybe someone can confirm that for me. Special thanks to Urban Panzer for the BCU info, rduff for the relay information, tee51397 for terminal confirmation and creepin for switch info and reconnaissance. Thanks to everyone else on this board who helped us achieve success.
First here are the part numbers and cost:
Panel Switch Front Foglights - YUG000720PUY - Cost approx $25.00
Panel Switch Rear Foglights - YUE000300PUY - $7.50
Left Fog Light Assembly - XBJ000090 - $99.00 (ordered through body shop)
Right Fog Light Assembly - XBJ000080 - $99.00 (ordered through body shop)
- fog light prices vary, these were discounted as part of the install
Front Fog Light Relay (position R12) - $34.00 (installed at Dealer)
Right and Left bumper covers - $115 / $145 (painted) (ordered through body shop)
I opted to have a local body shop order the lights and paint the bumper covers to match. I have read on this forum of people installing the lights and covers themselves without too much difficulty but I usually cost myself more money in the end with the DIY method.
On the left panel you will need to disconnect the rear fog light switch (blue terminal) and move it to the second postion. Install the new rear fog light switch in this postion. With theblank switch removed, attach the front fog light switch on the left panel in position one to the green teminal.
The S model is prewired for the front fog lights. The connectors are located near the bumper holes behind the black bumper covers. These connectors simply plug into the OEM fog lights.
Your lights will probaly still not work because the BCU needs to be activated to show that front fog lights are now installed. The front fog light relay will also have to be installed in position R12. I had this done at the dealership at a cost of $109.00 for the computer session and $34 for the relay (installed), not as bad as I thought it would be.
Hope this helps, for about $850.00 we have fog lights and new bumper covers. Advice, if you are buying a Disco, probably opt for the SE if you can afford it but if you have a S model, go for it ... we are very please with the result.
