Default 04 CDL linkage fit into a 2000

Hey everyone,
Just picked up a 04 CDL linkage on ebay. Will this be plug and play into my 2000 Disco? I know that with the D1 linkages they have to bent a little, or be modified. I have been looking for one of these for a while... glad I finally snagged one.

Research this in the search bar for my 04 set up all the questions were answered not to long ago with great detail. Pretty easy conversion to do.

I did have one question though, do I need to mess with my ECU? Haven't heard anything mentioned about that in any of my research.

If you've got the stock SLABS computer, it wasn't designed to work with the diff lock. You can either follow the steps to cut a wire, as listed in the article that lr2001silver posted, or you can work around it by only locking it after the engine is running. If at some point your SLABS was replaced with a 2003 (or more likely 2004) part then the computer knows about the diff lock. Some older SLABS were replaced with a newer part under warranty to fix weird issues.

Thanks jafir. Is there a preferable method? I think I would rather not cut the wire...

Get a computer from an 04. You may need someone to program it to your truck... Coils or SLS, that kind of thing.
