At least, that's how I've always done it.
ke ?

I don't follow that tbh, thats exactly why you should use the same size and drill dead centre, the head will break off and then you can punch the rest of the rivet out if need be.

you are more likely, infact will DEF damage the hole if you drill with a bigger size, its bad practice tbh. probably not an issue on motor vehicles, but............

If I went at a 3/16 rivet in an aircraft skin with a 3/8 drill, the "risk" of opening up the hole and the need to increase the replacement fastener size would be huge (and potentially very costly)

Maybe its the trade im in, but its the "norm" to use the same size drill to remove solid or hollow rivets in aircraft.

Maybe it's the type of rivet as well. With a pop rivet, which is the kind I usually work with, the larger bit self-centers more readily. I can certainly see not doing that on aircraft.

Where is the best place to order one of these Kits? My Gear box has the CDL option on it. And I would love to have this feature

Alright so this is quite different from installing a CDL out of a D1. Had I known I would have documented me pulling the shifter out of the D1 through to completion, however I didn't realize there were a few dissimilarities till I got my D2 apart. I will take some photos and make a short write up tomorrow when I put her back together. Working in a parking lot- my work stops when the sun goes down.

Very nice. I was hesitant about doing this myself, I am not that good with autos. More of a computer hardware guy. Anyways, I will probably try this in about a year when I get back from Afghan. If my wife doesnt sell it by then, she keeps on threatening me cause of all the little problems it has.
