I just bought an 04 Discovery from Florida the company that picked it up says that they drove it up on the truck, but upon arrival when you try to start it, it will not roll over at all and the alarm goes off. I have had cars that did something similar to this when the battery was almost dead, is this the same thing or a more complicated problem? This is my first Land Rover so I'm not very familiar with them any help would be appreciated.

 

this happened to me a couple times as well. when i activated the key fob for some reason it only unlocked the doors and did not disable the alarm. i say to push the deactivate button a couple times and see if that works. one way you can tell is if the red light is still on..

 

Its the battery...same thing happened to my 03 Discovery i got in Tampa, FL back in August 08 . Dealer told me the car was sitting in the lot for 4 months without a single test drive. All is good now.

 

Should get the battery charged and verify if it is any good, if not, replace it and then try to start the truck.
You may need your radio security code to turn on the radio again, if the battery was bad.
