2004 D2 help wont start alarm goes off??
04 D2 was in my garage doors unlocked opened door and alarm goes off, lights flashing horn etc... put key in try to start wont start, nothing. after a few minutes alarm goes off, but once you open the door alarm goes off again. Tried disconnecting the battery still doesnt change. at this point cant start with the key. I've never used that key fob to set the alarm because its never worked. Has anyone every had this happen. At this point I cant even start it with the key. Is there anyway I can disable the alarm to start the truck or some way of reseting the system? Seeking any help I can get.
Thanks to any that can assist.

If the wires or switch on your driver door mechanical lock are bad, and these operate the central locking and alarm system, you may have to open up the driver footwell panel and ground the same wire to make truck think you turned off alarm. RAVE circuits manual and electrical manual will be your friend.
The system, once triggered or immobilized, will maintain that previous status even if you defeat the battery. This system was created to confound sophisticated criminals that plague Rover owners; as it is well known that we carry sacks of gold to pay for stealership repairs.

Thank you both Savannah and Jared, You were correct Jared, I put the key in the drivers side door lock, locked and unlocked.... problem fixed. Im guessing that while I was working on the stereo I must have locked the doors with the electric lock then got out of the drivers side. When the door was opened from the outside, read that as a door force and disabled the ignition and set the alarm off even when using the key to try and start it.Thanks for all your help this site is truly a great resource for LR owners who try and fix things themselves rather!
Glad you got it fixed, just so you don't disconnect your battery, trying to fix something, it won't fix anything and it will cause a couple of your computers to loose their adaptive memory.
Also if you alarm acts up again, you should lock and unlock the door 3 times in a row.
