04 G4 ACE Retrofit, Rear Air Retro fit, and SLS Revived
If this interests anyone I am about to tackle the ACE retrofit. I have a complete 02 with ACE I am going to retrofit to my wifes 04 G4 HSE7
I have already added rear air (the lines, rear blower housing ducting, and REAR wiring was the EASY part) . Retrofitting the wiring harness under the dash is the "strap yourself in and enjoy the ride" part I am undertaking now.
I have added the rear jump seats and that was a easy as well.
Here is what I am gonna say about all of this. 03-04 Discos were NOT PREWIRED for everything. You WILL HAVE TO MODIFY THE HARNESS. They do however have all bolt holes pre theaded and the rivet holes are there as well. That makes installing most of this easy if you have the patience to rip the interior out (good time to redo your headliner if you need it
I am thinking about starting a thread on the ACE but I only do things to look factory so it will have all wiring routed in the correct place, programmed (if needed), etc
If anyone has anything to add that has retrofitted the ACE I am all ears

I’m definitely in for this one, but man, you have got some titanium cajoles for taking this on. I love ACE and wouldn’t mind doing a retrofit, but you lost me harness modification…
I’m assuming you’ve got a Nanocom or the like to program that stuff in. But won’t you need a SLABS and/or BCU to get it to work, aside from the physical part?

Are you adding -- or do you have -- rear SLS (ie air suspension)? I realized you're talking about rear AC (air conditioning). If you're really going to the trouble of ACE I'd add SLS. I'm a crazy person too, not judging.
Note: ACE shocks are different both front and rear and front springs are different. For the shocks, in actuality they're a bit longer travel. Springs, no idea. It probably doesn't matter but I do appreciate the lengths they went to tune the handling of the ACE/SLS cars.
I have 2 Discos at the moment. One with ACE/SLS and rear air, and one with just ACE/SLS (5 seater). I am LOVING the rear air conditioning in the hot summer with my bloodhounds. It's a game changer. Good job adding that. Was it difficult to add the hard lines and get them out of the engine bay and down the car form your donor car? I've looked at mine and thought how on earth would I replace those 2 AC lines. PS make sure you have a hole for the drain, my rear drips a ton of water on humid days
