Default 04 Speaker sizes

I did a search and couldn't find an answer. I am picking up my new to me 04 Discovery II SE on Monday and was wondering what are the sizes of all the speakers? It also has the Harman Kardon upgrade. I plan on replacing all the speakers. Thanks

Well, while waiting on upgrade parts perhaps the flux capacitor has enough charge left to bring up some good oldies, like "Whole Lot O Shakin' Goin' On" and "Heatwave!"

Translation - watch out for overheating, buy an Ultra Guage or scanner to check temps, don't go over 50% on the gauge; and make sure front prop shaft has multiple grease fittings and they are being used. Stock shaft can split and take out the tranny. Lots of things n the tech section.

Free download below of the factory shop manuals, which include color coded wiring diagrams for all the stock audio systems, with connector location photos and pin-outs diagrams. Called the RAVE.

You will need to pull one of each of the speakers so you can match up both the diameter as well as the depth. Go to Best Buy and listen to the different speakers and from that determine what speakers you want.
Beside that, you have a lot more important issues to deal with before you do much driving of that new truck. Go to the top of this section and read/perform the major service listed, even if you think the truck is current, also remember to check and make sure the front drive shaft has been replaced or rebuilt so it won't fail and take out the tranny which happens way to much.
Enjoy your new Disco, have you ever had a 4wheeler before and how many miles are on yours.

Thanks for all the info fellas. This will be my first Disco, but I had a Jeep Cherokee Sport and a Dodge Ram 4x4 QC Sport before this. Was the front drive shaft a recall or just something I have to do?

Just something you have to do. Like mike said, check the tech section sticky at the top of the page and complete the 60k service. Your life will be much easier if you do. Here's a link to a good article about necessary upgrades, driveshaft included: 1994-2004 Land Rover Discovery Upgrades - Four Wheeler Magazine

Note: there is a recent recall for the rotoflex, but it is unlikely your truck is included as it only affects 110 trucks or so.

BTW the speakers are 6 1/2's. I just replaced mine late last year with some pioneers. Plenty of room in the front doors, but the rear only have 3.5 inches to use.

I found the speakers in mine to be just fine, once I replaced the amp and sub. I put a Kenwood head unit in and a JL Audio 300w amp which runs the front door speakers and the sub. the A pillar tweeters, and rear door speakers are run by the existing amps in the truck. The stock speakers sound just fine with a better amp.

YMMV

I finally have it home and the speakers actually sound good. Other than "the tick" it runs great so far. Now time to start the Mega service and crossing fingers that the front driveshaft has been rebuilt/replaced. Wish me luck and thanks again everyone.
