1412 1415 gas cap
I get a recurrent 1412 and 1415 resulting in the SeS light. I've read that a replacement gas cap can fix that. Am I advised to get an original gas cap? I've pretty much scoured the vacuum system. Seems solid. The Jet turbine start up unit (forget name) is begging for my attention. Could that running really roughly throw those codes?
Fuel Filler Gas Cap (Genuine Part # WLD500100 ) - Land Rover filler caps from Atlantic British
$36?
Will get to the turbine unit soon enough, but until then is a gas cap a thing to try? Or is it throwing $40 away?
You know what? Land Rover were clever to make dash lights come on for petty little things. Its healthy for their parts business after a car is sold.

P1412 Secondary air system (sai) fault bank 1Drive cycle D:Signal implausible
P1415 Secondary air system (sai) fault bank 2Drive cycle D:Signal implausible
could be vacuum lines or oil clogged sai filter, or a valve not opening?
i dont have the SAI, so im not 100% sure.

Ooh, clogged valve...
That's cheaper than a gas cap. I really have to strip this system to bits. It's noisy and throwing codes. Is the filter close to the big jet engine unit bolted to the bulkhead? As soon as I'm done fiddling with high milage stuff, this is top of the list.
Knowing the history of this truck I am certain nobody has touched the filter for the SAI system.

Fixed it.
Turned out to be the vacuum valve solenoid.
I ordered a new (old) SAI pump cos mine was just getting embarrassing. I got the dude to send a solenoid as well.
i tested the old Vs the new (old) on the bench with a 12v supply. The old one sounded like an odd broken spring noise, the new ticked like i would expect.
Do you think that a bad solenoid, obviously not opening the valves could have destroyed the pump? The valves themselves seem quite good. They seem to hold vacuum well. Gave them a clean.
The old pump did just sound like the bearings were going, and there isnt really much to go wrong inside on of those i imagine.
Thats another light gone off the dash. So far today i've got rid of all of them.

Im not 100 % sure as I don't have the sai feature., hopefully someone with more knowledge will chime in.
Glad you figured out the issue.
