Can anyone tell we what I will gain by doing a lift and running slightly larger tires? Will I have more travel in the shocks so that when I hit a large bump it doesn't make my teeth rattle?

I can't compare the TF's, but I've had the OME Nitrochargers for over a year on I really like them with the factory suspension.

Default 2" TF lift and 265/75R16 tires

Did the TF lift a little while back. I struggled with OME v. TF for some time. I finally convinced myself that I'd never test either of these setups to the limit - not even close. So, TF it was.

My shocks and springs were apparently original equipment. The front shocks were completely shot, and in fact one of my springs was actually broken. The difference in ride and comfort was incredible. I also installed the extended SS brake lines, though in hindsight they were perhaps unnecessary.

What really "made" the truck was the new tires. They fit perfectly and complete the look...

Just went with the TerraFirma All-Terrain shocks. I've had them all OME, Bling-stiens both standard and 7100 remotes.

So far all have been decent shocks, the blings tend to be a bit firmer and jarring in their ride. The OME are ok but I snapped a few of those.

I've seen the TerraFirma's take a beating on the Lucky8 truck that would make you cry if it was your rig. If they survived what I saw then they are good enough for my 110. In a few days I should be able to give a initial impression on the TerraFirma shock

I've really loved the TF. They have held up to the abuse I've put them through and they haven't rust, even with the salt water crossings. I think the ride is superb and have decent build quality. My D1 had OME, and I thought it was stiffer.

Food for thought, you should consider that your springs are probably shot at 145k as well.

Take it from someone who wore out a new set of Bilsteins by putting them on a truck with 135k and old original sagging springs.

An advantage to doing a lift is that you won't ruin those expensive shocks in short order.

As you can see I went with the OME Medium duty springs and the OME Nitrocharger Sport shocks. It's been a stiffer than factory ride so far but I can tell things are starting to smooth out now.
