Don't buy it off ebay. Get it from Lucky8 or Atlantic British. Too important of and issue with the engine to try and save $40.

erik @lucky8 sells his thermos, along with everything else on eBay. Buying direct from him will save some money in his listing fees. He does not sell the Bearmach directly, they come from his listing source. He doesn’t sell them in his physical shop.

and he still charges around $40 with shipping...6 and 1/2 dozen or the other.

he will sell you the OEM for around $70 also👍🏻

You want Genuine Land Rover PN PEL500110. It's grey. 180 degrees. It should be $70-85 USD.

The Britpart one is black, I think. You don't want that.

There is also a cream/offwhite colored one with this same part #, brand unknown, you do not want that either.

I just bought the lucky eight propeller shaft from eBay direct from them that would be a great idea and he could combine the shipping how do I get a hold of him

Another vote for the genuine td5 thermostat here. I've been using it in my '01 and it's worked great.

Here is a listing from someone on the forum that I saved to my notes...

V8 Thermostat; check for Celsius rating stamped on housing ***NO STANT BRAND!!!***:
  • PEM100990 - Cream is 190F/88C° with Hard Spring (Designed for V8)
  • PEM100990B / PEM101020 - Black or Cream is 180F/82C° with Hard Spring (Designed for a V8 and used as a stopgap with Freelander engines)
  • PEL500110 - Gray is 180F/82C° with Light/Soft Spring (TD5 & Freelander engines)
  • AJ813558 - metal thermostat housing Jaguar 3.0L V6

lucky 8 was selling some crappy thermostats or should I say they were sold as 180 but really were not.
me and a few other members had issues last year
