I checked the under the hood fuse box too. I pulled all the fuses and inspected them and the terminals they seem to be in good shape.

I read on the forums that a main cause of Cruise Control malfunction is the vaccum hoses. I checked all 3 hoses and they were cracked and split everywhere. I replaced them and tried the Cruise Control again. No light, no functioning.

However I noticed that from the T valve the longest vaccum hose, (the one that runs under the jack and near the left front headlight) it goes to some kind of vaccum pump? Well I couldn't see it as it's in a realy hard place to see, but I could feel with my hands that there were 2 Nubs for hoses, one of which went to the T to cruise control, and the other didn't have a hose on it.

Is it supposed to? If so what hose and where does it go?
Also, the vaccum hoses being all cracked up wouldn't cause the cruise control button not to light up right? Maybe the light is just burnt out...

The cracked vacuum lines would not let the cruise work, on a DI the cruise works off of engine vacuum.
The light not coming on means either it has no power or the bulb is burnt out.

Well, I got the light on the cruise control button to work. I took the button panel off of the dash and noticed that there was two little tiny circular pieces on the side of the button, one seemed to be out of position. After correcting it the light turns on!

Took it out for a test spin, still no working cruise control. =(

Came back and decided to check the brake switch, the vaccum hose looked fine and so did the power.

So all in all I have:
- Checked brake switch
- Checked/Changed all vaccum hoses for the cruise control system
- Checked all fuses
- Checked/Fixed cruise control button

The only thing I can think of, is that I seem to recall the previous owner saying that had to have some ignition work done. I'm wondering if maybe the technicians forgot to hook up the Set/Accelerator buttons on the steering column.

I looked in my RAVE manual and it said that on Discos with airbags (mine has airbags) need to first remove the airbag module. I'm wondering how hard of job this will be to remove the airbag module? or if anyone has any tips/suggestions?

Default Test the wires at the cruise ECU

there was a post on here a while back about testing all the wires going to the cruise control ECU. If you get under the passenger side dash, locate and unplug the cruise ECU harness and test all of the wires there you will save yourself some time and headaches (this way you can test all of the components of the cruise control system in one place)

found the link it really is pretty easy to do if you have a meter
https://landroverforums.com/forum/sh...ghlight=cruise

let me know if you have any problems as I have been through all these steps a few months back.

another thought: If your rotary coupler or whatever in the steering wheel is messed up you can just get 2 valet buttons from your local radio shack and wire those up to the cruise ECU, then just find somewhere to mount them.
