Unhappy 1996 Discovery Problems

I have a 1996 Discovery and yesterday when I went to start it, it started, I could rev the engine to about 2500 rpm for about 5 secs then it would die. If I continue to try to start it, it feels like it is fuel starved and won't start. If I let it set for an hour or so, it will repeat the process.

Any ideas?

Thanks,

Doug

replace your fuel filter, if it hasn't been done. Under passenger rear fenderwell on the frame

Yup, clogged fuel filter.
The fuel "seeps" through the clog like a slow bathroom drain and then you have enough gas to run the engine for a short time but cant supply enough fuel fast enough to keep the engine running.
