Default 1998 Disco, few questions

I finally finished to repair my Disco yesterday and I got to drive it. I am amazed of how it handles on the road and and comfort. I was also really impressed about the fact that everything works in my Disco, cruise control and AC included!

Changed the oil in my t-case with heavier grade, it damped the grinding noise, but it is still there so i'm looking at a new t-case in the next couple of months. And my CDL shifter works fine. I repaired my power steering leak, seems to work properly. Changed a CV joint, but it is still knocking when I turn...

The problem is, when I turn the wheels, there is a knocking sound as if the truck wasn't made to turn that much. It does it only at low speed, 15 mph or less. It does the same thing when you turn the wheels too much on a Jeep when it is on the 4wd. Any suggestions?

This is the last issue I have to clear out before my Disco is in top shape.

Sounds like one of your front CV's is failing, does it only happen when you turn one direction?

No... both directions, this is why it totally puzzles me. I already changed one... maybe I should look forward to change the other.

I also have a problem with my anti theft. It sometimes sets off after I unlocked the doors and I'm about to start the car. How do I turn it off? It gets pretty annoying especially in the parking lot of a shop when it happens twice.

Sounds like maybe your turn stops are out of adjustment, there is a way to increase or decrease your turning radius. If it allows you to turn to tight you could be binding something up.

As for the alarm, it will only turn off when you unlock the drivers door. So if you unlock the cargo door and then open it the alarm will go off. Same with the passenger door.

it did it when I opened the driver's door after I unlocked it.

I didn't check the turn stops but it seems good to me since it sometimes does it when I don't turn that much. the knock is less audible...

Does the light on the dash turn off when you unlock the truck?

As for the steering knock, maybe your other CV joint is bad too.

I assume the light turns off... maybe I opened the door too quickly after I unlocked it so the alarm was still armed...

As for the CV... that was my guess but I hoped for something else...

And I finally got my radio to work... trips were so long without it...

Went off roading a bit today... but I coudn't get the truck dirty, all the mud is frozen in Quebec.

I was also hopiong it wasnt the other CV, I was hoping it was a rubbing tire or something.

After you unlock it see if the light on the dash shuts off.
Maybe your door lock actuator is bad and not sending the unlock signal to the alarm computer?

I'm not sure the door lock actuator is bad since it is a very random problem...
