Default 1998 Disco problem two - passenger window

The passenger window in my 1998 Disco refuses to behave properly [:@]It makes all kinds of unholy racket going up and down to the point where I am afraid it was going to break!! [&:]The last time I lowered it, it refused to come back up the last two inches, so I had my little boy run the button while I helped it up.

I haven't lowered it since for fear of REALLY boogering something up, so I thought I'd drop in here for advice onthe easy schmeezy fix!!

I'm all ears, brethren.

I've seen the window frame bolts being in the way of the mechanism. Open the door, loossen those bolts and give it a shot.

Happened on my Disco and what I did was remove those bolts and put a washer to keep them from going in too deep. Now how can they be o.k for years and than all of the sudden be in the way ??? beats me, but it happens.

Probably the same thing that just happened to me ... plastic wheel on the window regulator broke, so it is not staying in the track. I've almost got a decent repair working but if that doesnt pan out, gonna have to buy a new one.

There are plenty of threads on this problem.
You will need to replace the regulator. If you do it yourself it will take about 1hr to 2 hrs. The part will cost a little of $100. You can order one on roverparts.com. The stealership will charge you alot more.
